Tom B. Kirkbride is an attorney and principal with the Law Firm of Tom. B. Kirkbride. P.C., Kirkbride Law) is a Georgia law firm based in Peachtree City, specializing as an Outside General Counsel Services (“OGCS”) law practice devoted to special matters, government investigations, legislative affairs, appellate matters, military and veterans matters, employment law & litigation. Tom graduated from Atlanta’s John Marshal School of Law. Tom is a disabled veteran where he served in the United States Army as a special operations, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician for over 12-years before sustaining serious mission-related injuries. In addition, Tom has been a Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer since 1990, where he held positions as public safety bomb technician, arson investigator, patrol officer, SWAT team leader, internal affairs investigator & supervisor department training officer, and support services commander. After the 9/11 attack on this country, Tom left Georgia law enforcement and became a Federal Air Marshal, where he served in the global war on terrorism as a Supervisory Federal Air Marshal (SFAM) providing executive level leadership to the Federal Air Marshal workforce, overseeing the overall planning, direction, and coordination of operations of the Federal Air Marshal Service. Tom is dedicated to supporting public safety professionals as an attorney and legal advisor, where he can leverage his experience as a public safety practitioner and his skill as a lawyer to produce favorable legal strategies in areas related to public safety employment law, EEO complaints, FLSA issues, and complaints of discrimination or violations of civil rights in the hiring, retention, training and termination process. Tom devotes time to helping veterans with VA claims, advocates for victims of domestic violence, survivors of human trafficking, and representing officers in P.O.S.T. certification and disciplinary hearings. Tom serves as a Board Member on the Columbus State University Alumni Association and is an Associate Professor for over 20-years with the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College (GLECC) at Columbus State University where his responsibilities include training executives to influence and manage the future, to be prepared to analyze current issues, forecast the impact and effect of these issues, study probabilities of the future, thus having the ability to influence the future of law enforcement and public safety as a whole. Tom is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 210 in Peachtree City, active member of Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville, and serves on the Whitewater High School Public Safety Committee advising on educational matters related to the law and public safety career programs.
